He does a great job of explaining Cichlid behavior to the unacquainted. Especially large cichlids which are typically misunderstood in their behavioral patterns due to the uninformed owner. Good general guidelines for aquarium maintenance. In particular, this book is good for the hobbyist just starting to breed cichlids for the first time. One of my all-time favorites and a must-have for any serious hobbyist that keeps cichlids. If you are serious about keeping cichlids whether it is for conservation purposes, or as wet pets, this is a good starting point to take you beyond the initial cheap Cichlid books at your local pet store and into the study of their maintenance, breeding, and personalities.
